the spoke.

the spoke. is a free program for youth, aged 12 - 17. Over the course of an 8-week program, youth participants will learn how to repair and maintain a bike, from start to finish. Each participant leaves the spoke. with their very own bicycle!

Volunteers work with youth, providing mentorship and teaching skills.

All participants will have the chance to become instructors in future sessions with other youth from the community.

Bike Art & Knit

What better thing to do on Thursdays in winter than come together to tinker with bike parts, maybe knit/crochet/quilt something to keep warm, and sip some tea with people making stuff.

Special Needs Learn to Ride

In its 10th season, this course is designed for children ages 8-12 with special needs who want to learn to ride a two wheeled bike.

Bike!Bike! 2012 conference

Bike! Bike! is an annual conference organized by and for not-for-profit community bicycle collectives (such as Edmonton Bicycle Commuters’ Society!) since 2004.

Velo-city Global Cycling Planning Conference

The most notable cycling planning conference in the world is coming to Vancouver in June 2012. Velo-city Global is the offers delegates from around the world a chance to share best practices for creating and sustaining cycling-friendly cities, where bicycles are valued as part of daily transport and recreation.
