Viewing of the bicycles is held the Friday preceding the auction from 1:00pm to 5pm, and also from 9:00am to 10am on Saturday. The auction starts at 10:00am sharp, and goes to about noon, but it depends on how long it takes to sell the bikes. While the auction is going on you can still wander around poking at the bikes (you just won’t be able to bid on whatever bike they have up on the stage at the time).

Also good to know: it’s CASH ONLY.

[…] much else I could do, and that if I turned it over to the police, it would just end up being auctioned off as the serial number is not in the system. The cops only keep found bikes for thirty days. […]

You’d have to phone the auction house to find out.

  • 18 Bill Clark // Sep 21, 2011 at 3:46 pm MST

You need to update the auction company, and contact numbers for the bike auctions. Fenske has retired and closed his shop.–Bill (I also want people riding these bikes)

Reid’s auctions has moved, although their phone # is still 780-488-3300. They are now located at 12135 William Short Rd. It’s near the Coliseum, a little to the west of the LRT tracks.

Stolen Bike Auction update: The auctions are held the first Saturday of the month (the next Saturday if the first is on a long weekend) just off Old Fort Road, at 12135 William Short Road. Today the sale included about 100 bikes of all shapes and sizes. Sale prices were from $10 for a junker up to $1750 for a nice Specialized. Most bikes sold for less than $100. It’s run by Reid’s Auctions.

  • 21 Chris // Apr 14, 2012 at 1:24 pm MST

Thanks for the update. Glad they’re back in Fenske’s old spot. I’ve updated the info.

  • 23 Gary Bochanesky // May 28, 2012 at 12:43 pm MST

Can you tell me when your next bike auction is? I’ve tried your website phone numbers and they all come up not in use. Thanks Gary

  • 24 Chris // May 28, 2012 at 12:50 pm MST

Which number are you trying, Gary?

  • 25 Mark // Aug 27, 2012 at 4:22 pm MST

The phone number quoted by ‘Chris’ in the comments isn’t in service. Use the one in the description above.

Hi, when is the next bike auction?

  • 27 Spencer // Sep 22, 2014 at 2:26 pm MST

Is there a bike auction the first Saturday of this October?

  • 28 Bob // Dec 15, 2014 at 2:33 am MST

I am wondering if there has ever been a problem where a person buys a bike from the police auction, and hence owns it, then the original owner recognizes their bike and wants it back.

  • 29 Anon // Dec 28, 2014 at 12:51 pm MST

I think the bikes are held by the police for a certain time before it’s auctioned off. If the original owner wanted the bike back, they would have gotten it back from the police

  • 30 Ron // Jun 12, 2015 at 7:49 am MST

Reid’s Auction hasn’t been at 12135 William Short Rd in years,

  • 31 Ron // Jun 12, 2015 at 7:58 am MST

There’s now an app to check the bicycle serial. This is a national service provided by the police.

  • 32 Mike Holmes // Jun 14, 2015 at 11:12 am MST

Looks like someone dumped a stolen bike in our yard. Raleigh.

  • 33 Michael // Jul 3, 2015 at 12:05 pm MST

This is SO misleading. Your website shows it as: Reid’s Auction is located at 12135 William Short Road. Map and everything.
It is not there at all.

    SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
