Education & Outreach

EBC engages community groups, businesses, schools, not-for-profit organization, government departments and institutions with bicycle-related information and services. Our outreach efforts rely on our strong community connections and are often done by our committed volunteers or staff.

If you do not see any courses listed, then we do not have any currently scheduled. Fear not! You can just drop into BikeWorks during regular shop hours to learn from our volunteer mechanics.

For drop-in bike repair, visit BikeWorks during public hours! No appointment or registration is necessary. You’ll learn hands-on with our volunteer mechanics.

BikeWorks North and BikeWorks South are fully-equipped, volunteer-run community bike workshops. We have all the tools (including specialty bicycle tools) needed to repair and maintain your bicycle, and mechanics to teach you how to do it. We also have a vast selection of used and new parts and bicycles available for purchase.

Are you interested in bicycle commuting? Our cycling education programs include displays, presentations and riding courses that individuals, groups, and organizations can participate in.

EBC offers nationally-certified cycling education courses and urban bike commuting courses for adults, youth and families. These courses teach people to safely and effectively in the city. (read more…) »

EBC works with neighbourhoods to help develop requests for high-quality infrastructure that works well in the very local, very specific neighbourhood context. We also partner with other organizations and work with the City of Edmonton to encourage a cycle-friendly city. For details, see our Community page.
