On-Road Cycling Education

Are you interested in bicycle commuting? 

The cycling education programs include presentations and riding courses that individuals, groups, and organizations can participate in.

Presentations can be delivered to a large audience, but the ideal number for a cycling course is between 4 to 10 riders. If you would like to accommodate a larger group, please contact EBC at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Courses are offered at BikeWorks and around town at workplaces, community halls, schools, etc.

Presentations

Introduction to Bicycle Commuting
A one-hour presentation that introduces key information for individuals commuting to work. This presentation covers topics on bike laws, how to ride, where to ride, types of bikes, proper clothing, and commuter gear.

Fee: $25.00 per presentation


Bicycle Commuting Workshop
A one-hour lunch-and-learn workshop in which participants can learn how to plan effective cycling routes and resolving commuting-related hurdles.

Fee: $25.00 per presentation


Courses

Become a member of EBC to enjoy the member discounts on course fees. 

Learn To Ride
This two-hour course is intended for new or beginner cyclists. Topics include balancing, steering, and bicycle safety.

Participant Fees: $15.00 for EBC Members, $20.00 for non-members

Bicycle Family Workshop
This two-hour course is designed specifically for families. The course covers cycling etiquette, bicycle safety, and provides parents and children a space to ask questions and polish their riding.

Participant Fees: $15.00 for EBC Members, $20.00 for nonmembers; Special family rate: $40.00 for 2 adults and 2 children.


Urban Commuting
A four-hour program, the urban commuting course covers traffic interaction, commuter-oriented cycling skills, and route planning. Ideal for organizations and cyclists looking to improve their skills and their commute.

Participant Fees: $40.00 for EBC Members, $50.00 for non-members


CAN-BIKE 2
The only nationally-certified cycling training program in Canada, CAN-BIKE 2 provides a place for experienced cyclists to improve their skills and for professional cyclists to become certified. A typical course runs 16-18 hours and includes cycling theory and a progression of on-road riding, from side streets to main arterials and advanced traffic situations.

Participant Fees: $80.00 for EBC Members, $100.00 for non-members
