Outreach

EBC engages community groups, businesses, schools, not-for-profit organization, government departments and institutions with bicycle-related information and services.  Our outreach efforts rely on our strong community connections and are often done by our committed volunteers or staff.

Collecting Bicycle Donations
Our community bike shop, BikeWorks, accepts donations of bicycles, bike parts and bike accessories. Donations should be in good condition (old bikes are fine).  Very poor condition bicycles should be taken to the City of Edmonton Eco Station or a scrap metal recycler.  All bikes donated to EBC are refurbished, reused, or recycled.

Your organization could hold a bicycle collection day where participants bring their unused bicycles to your location.  Collected bicycles and parts would be gladly accepted at BikeWorks.  Pick up services are not available; however, we may be able to use one of our bike cargo trailers to haul donations back to BikeWorks.

Bicycle Parking
Need temporary bike racks for your event or festival? Welcome cyclists to your event by providing convenient, accessible bike parking!  Rent EBC’s bike racks.  Each rack may hold up to 8 bikes.  30 racks available.

Commuter Cycling Info Display
Our knowledgeable volunteers and staff can provide essential tips on how to bike in Edmonton.  Learn about EBC’s public programs, cycling infrastructure maps, bike safety, and more!

Public Presentations
Need a speaker to engage your audience on the wonders of cycling in Edmonton?  EBC has many experienced cyclists, bike mechanics, and sustainable transportation advocates who will capture your interest and inspire you to get active!  Popular topics include: Introduction to Cycling in Edmonton; Winter Cycling; Commuter Cycling; Cycle Camping. Bike Tune-Up Station
Need a quick tune-up before you go out for a ride?  EBC’s mechanics can do minor repairs and recommend resources for larger repairs.  Perfect for community festivals or workplace commuter challenges!

Advocacy and Community Planning
Want bike lanes in your neighbourhood? Want bike racks at local businesses and residences? EBC helps to coordinate efforts to get more and better cycling infrastructure and programs throughout the city.
