Silly Bike Parade
0 comments at 1:41 am posted by Chris C
Do you ride a unicycle and use another unicycle with handlebars as your front wheel? Do you ride a penny-farthing? Does your front-suspension have a 3-foot travel? Is your bicycle 1-foot tall, or do you have to use blocks to reach your pedals? Do you put dresses and wigs on your bicycle?
That’s a silly bicycle.
Do you enjoy riding around in pirate or ninja or zombie costume? Or wearing multiple hats simultaneously? Putting streamers in your hair and sounding your rubber-duck horn?
That’s a silly rider.
Join us, silly bicycles or silly riders, as we parade down Whyte Ave for Old Strathcona’s annual Silly Summer Parade.
If you’d like to participate, e-mail us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). It’s free, it’s fun, and you’ll totally be sillier than all those kids on their silly bikes. (Although, kids are welcome to join us, too.)
P.S. This isn’t the Silly Summer Bike Decorating Contest. I have no idea who’s responsible for that or how you can get in touch with them. But we will be decorating our bikes to make them silly, so you’re welcome to join us! We will have prizes for the silliest bike and the silliest rider.
P.P.S. The parade’s theme is “Red Whyte and Canadian eh!”. I find it rather uninspired for a Canada Day parade. I encourage you to be inspired by your two wheels.
