While not listed on the City of Edmonton bike map, there is an unpaved bike route connecting Melton Ravine (138 St and 89A Ave) to the Hawrelak Park pedestrian bridge.
The Buena Vista Great Meadow/Melton Ravine is one of 40 designated off-leash dog walking areas in the city, and while the slower trail users (pedestrians and dogs) have the right-of-way, we all share the multiuse trail. A lot of the dog walkers in this area will tell you that bicycles are not allowed, but this is inaccurate.
In fact, the multiuse trail at the bottom of the ravine, which allows cyclists to connect to the bridge, is an on-leash area.
Here’s a map that you can arm yourself with if you’re getting harrassed by misinformed dog-walkers, or if you’re just getting lost trying to get through the area. These maps are also posted at the top of the ravine, at the bottom, and at the end of the trail nearest the bridge (right next to the “you are now leaving the off-leash area” sign):
