  1. Donations: We accept donations of adult bicycles and components, regardless of condition. Just drop them off during our regular shop hours. We fix donated bicycles worth fixing, or sell them as-is for projects, strip others for parts, and recycle the rest, diverting them all from landfill (or collecting dust in your basement).  Got children’s bikes to donate?  Take them to Sport Central, who focus on kids bikes.  We don’t get much call for them around EBC, so if you bring them to us, they’ll likely be recycled as scrap.
  2. Media Inquiries: Please contact, Alexa Pendzich at 780-292-3701.
  3. Sales: We do sell used bicycles. We can’t promise that we have any that fit you: you’ll have to physically go into our shop during our regular shop hours to take a look, as our stock changes constantly (and is dependent on donations). You can buy bicycles that have already been rebuilt by our volunteer mechanics, or you can purchase a donated bike as-is and work on it yourself, with our guidance. We also sell new and used parts (tires, patch kits, freewheels, chains, brake pads, etc.—the common stuff).
  4. Rentals: We don’t rent bikes out. You can often buy a bike from us for what it would cost to rent a bike for a couple days.  If you’re visiting from out of town and want a bike to cruise around the river valley, Velocity Cycle rents hybrid/cruiser bikes. easy-pedal rents hybrid and electric bikes in the Strathcona area and by appointment.
  5. Hours: You can find our hours posted in the top-right corner of every page, in the “BikeWorks” section.
  6. Location: You can find us at 10047 80 Ave, using the alley entrance just south of 80 Ave. We don’t have a front door.  Here’s a map.
  7. Bike racks: Visit our bike rack page for more info on bike racks.
  8. Work shop: We run a community bike shop, called BikeWorks. If you need to tune up your bike for spring but don’t know how to adjust your seat, or you need to overhaul a rusty bicycle, or you’re looking to acquire a beater to ride around town, come down to our shop.  Our trained mechanics will teach you what you need to know, even if you’ve never turned a wrench in your life. We have all the tools and the know-how to get you rolling. We often run formal courses, but you can also just drop-in any time we’re open to learn how to fix your bike.
  9. Cost: We’re cheap.  Members are charged $2/hour for shop time, non-members are charged $5/hour. Shop time includes a bike stand, full-access to our complete set of tools (more than most bike shops carry), as well as help from our mechanics. You can buy memberships at the shop, or mail them in. We have a large selection of used (and sometimes new) parts, which we generally sell for next-to nothing. Full bicycles are usually between $40-$120, depending on their condition.
  10. Etc.: You’ve still got more questions?  You can .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), or you can call us during our regular hours at 780-433-BIKE (that’s 780-433-2453).
