Steve Andersen, Chair of Advocacy Committee
Although his most recent term on EBC’s board began in December 2013, Steve has had a long-standing relationship with bike organizations in Edmonton. He served as a volunteer mechanic for The People’s Pedal from July 2005 to May 2008, and for EBC from June 2010 to present. He also served as a board member for The People’s Pedal from February 2006 to January 2008, and previously for EBC between October 2006 and September 2009. We’re grateful for his experience and dedication.
“I’m a computer tech for the U of A, providing support to the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Law. This past summer I also worked at the Beaverhill Bird Observatory, near Tofield, researching butterfly biodiversity.
I don’t do much touring, but I rode the Icefields Parkway from Jasper to Banff a few years back. If you ever get the chance, it’s a fantastic trip, and you really can’t beat the scenery!
I ride a purple Canondale that I bought at EBC four years ago. It’s quite basic, no suspension and fairly middle-of-the-road parts, but it makes a great commuter. It takes me to and from work year-round.”
